Dusan Papez took over the presidency of Lions Club Ljubljana in year 2011/12. He says: "I take over the presidency by saying that by bringing happiness into the lives of others, we bring it also to ourselves. This is certainly among us, the Lions, especially important. I am honoured for the trust that as the first among equals lead the honourable members of the Club for one year.

I am especially looking forward to our relaxed and friendly gatherings - while we are trying to raise funds for the needy. In so doing, we would be able to more deeply connect with each other, as well as with other Lions Clubs in Slovenia and abroad.

By using years of experience and despite the difficult economic conditions we try to collect the necessary resources for people in need through our ideas and donors who are supporting us. We will sensitively direct and select the recipients of our grants. Special emphasis will be given to our actions. Wherever possible, we will be engaging ourselves in person. It is this collective work that connects us even more.

I wish that this year we consolidate our ties with our rising new generation of Lions -  Leo Club Ljubljana. To be an example to young people is also one of our major responsibilities.

With the help and expertise of the members who built  21 year history of Lions Club Ljubljana, we will pursue the goals of Lionism and taking into account the ethical principles we will foster a spirit of communication between people all over the world, and voluntarily assist in the immediate and wider community. "

Bogi Pretnar Kozinc, chairwoman of Lions Club Ljubljana 2007/2008

Bogi Pretnar Kozinc, chairwoman of Lions Club Ljubljana 2007/2008

»The president is just an equal among equals. In the mandate year, perhaps he's just the one, who's got to be pulling the club wagon with the outmost vigorousness.
The question, what would mark my mandate the most, was regretfully answered by nature through the great floods in Slovenia. It was essential to offer help immediately. Our club was the first to respond with a direct cash remittance and was among the most active by collecting contributions for the Slovenian Lions fund for the help the affected by the flood.

Good will can perform miracles: we report about our work on traditional charity events, like the Christmas stand on the Prešeren square and the charity ball in January in the concert hall of Cankarjev dom. Like before we were successful in the present year too - we’ve helped many people, who needed understanding and support.
I have a deep feeling that we - the Lions are happy, as our life permits us to give. Dear visitor, we welcome you on our web site, on our next stand or ball!

Bogi Pretnar Kozinc, chairwoman in the working year 2007/2008
